I like Wattbike. I have an Atom and it is very good. Every interaction I have had with the company has been very good too.
It reported a tough couple of years financially in its accounts for 2022 and 2023, with some quite chunky losses and reduced sales.
I hope it achieves profits and growth very soon.
I wonder if this has been designed for professionals who want to ride a century?
I really like my Wattbike Atom. Not sure how they could improve on it, maybe a really quiet one?
How would you rate the watt bike vs a road bike on turbo ? Iv been using the elite direto for years now but the bike I have on there is abismal I actually hate it. It’s a giant avail and was my entry level road bike from 2017. I now ride XC and enduro mtb so I don’t ride road, I do have a giant revolt which I love but replacing that for a turbo bike seems abit extravagant (and no I don’t want to keep taking it on and off the turbo as it’s the carbon one and it’s too nice ) iv about had it with the avail so looking for other options and thinking about the watt bike but know nothing about them in terms if a decent TR session . Just know my avail does not fit me anymore and I hate each session on it for a Miriad of reasons and know it has to go
My Wattbike Atom V2 is very good on TR, but it is ERG mode only on TR.
See here too Wattbike Atom ERG mode problem - #191 by kevistraining
Ohhh. I don’t use erg mode on my current set up as keep getting the spiral of doom with it ,I prefer the resistance and gears naturally …. But it may be a different feel on watt bike ? I find erg mode ridiculously hard to maintain (spiral of doom re cadence )
If you don’t use ERG when you use TR, a Wattbike Atom is not a good choice imo.
It is a very bad choice, as it doesn’t have any option other than ERG.
From what I have seen of them, I’d look at a Wahoo Kickr bike instead
Thank you , that’s really helpful
