What type of sunglasses are you guys wearing?

I been using Oakley Jawbreakers for years or a cheaper pair of Endura ones which are reactolite so are better for gloom days. The Oakleys Jawbreakers are a better fit for my face but a bit dark lensed for early starts/ dull days etc.

A couple of years ago I got some Oakley Radar as I wanted to try the Prizm lens and the vast majority of time I wear them, the fit is just as good as the jawbreakers (and better than the Endura) and the lens is really clear. The majority of occasions where I would have chosen the Endura Transitions they are just as good for visibility

According to their website the same company that makes their kits provides the glasses. It says it’s a Dutch brand named AGU.

i use this one, because they have a optical lens feature, most of them you can order with 1,5/2/2,5 Dioptrien:

but i want a Oakleys Sutro, my problem, is it possible to customize them with optical lense by an local optican, are they looking as good as before?

Is there someone who have done this?

I don’t know about this particular model, but many of Oakley’s cycling glasses accept corrective lenses. Some of them even support clip-in corrective lenses so that you can exchange the outer lenses.

However, I do not recommend those, the field of view is significantly smaller and peripheral vision is what keeps us alive. In the end I opted for an Adidas frame since I preferred the styling, so I don’t have personal experience with Oakleys. But by all accounts they make good frames.

yes, i read the thing about clip-in corrective, but couldn’t find anything on their homepage, the other thing, is their look the same as with the original glasses, i like the look and style.

At least with my local opticians you can get ordinary corrective lenses for Oakleys, too, where the field of vision (with correction) covers the entire lens. The tradeoffs are expense, potentially weight and that it makes it financially unfeasible to have more than one lens.

I opted for getting photochromic lenses. These work quite well, although they of course aren’t as good as proper sunglasses for strong light. They are way more than good enough to protect me against UV rays and do cut down on the light intensity. Plus, I can use them in the dark, too.

However, here in Japan the corrective lenses cost me a fortune. I have to chuckle every time someone says that they are not willing to shell out $100 for glasses and that they $20 pair works just fine.  :money_mouth_face: :sob:

yes, the price could be really expensive and of course i didn’t know if they fit to me, when they are replaced

You’ll have to try on the frame and see if they fit you. I had to exclude a lot of frames that looked at least as good or better than the Adidas, because the fit wasn’t perfect. If you pay that much for glasses, IMHO the fit has to be perfect.

I know that corrective lenses in Europe would have been cheaper than in Japan, but in Japan I paid an arm and a leg for them (3.5–4x the cost of the frame!). In Europe I think 1x the frame would have been possible. What made the lenses so expensive in my case were that they are aspherical and made out of “ballistically proof” materials. I’m not claiming my glasses are now bulletproof, but they are made out of very tough material. My left (= weaker) eye in particular will be well protected.

I got myself a pair of Bollé Shifter Phantom sunglasses.

I was about to pull the trigger on some prescription Rokas, but the rebate code stopped working the night i decided to purchase them. I messaged their customer service but they took so long that i was able to find those for $CAD 50 (the guy used to work for Bollé)

I like them so far, optics are good and the transition is nice and subtle.

Has anyone checked out these glasses? I like the look of them, decent price and come with a spare lens. Do most of my riding between 5-7AM and really struggle without a low light /clear pair

hey I just found your comment. were you able to find glasses that worked with the tectal race spin? I’m having the same issues as you

I went back to my old reliables, half jackets.

Anyone here using 100%? I’m trying to determine what the sizes are like. Looking at a few brands but each seems to have issues I can’t figure out

100% doesn’t seem to have any info on what their lenses make things look like and doesn’t list sizes for the frames, I understand some of them are biggg

Roka GP/SL are probably my favorite but don’t even ship with a spare clear lens (that will be another $60)

Oakley are kind of ugly aside from the Surto and also don’t seem to ship with spare lens

I have 2 of these, really love them. Prefer them to my oakleys by a long way.
Like the ethos of the brand as well

I’ve literally just ordered a pair! Mainly for MTB but will use them on the roadie also.

What specifically are you looking for? I have the S2 model, and I find that the main lenses are very similar to Oakley prizm, so vision is great.

I’ve a twilight/ night ride coming up and my 2 pairs of Oakley aren’t to hand. I’m currently using a pair of Endura photochromatic.

I’ve got the older version of these and whilst I know they go clear and have been 99% good for the varied light I usually ride in I’m unsure so if they’ll go light enough so I took a punt on these.

100% seems to have about a dozen color lenses but can’t find images of what they look like when looking through them, I imagine they highlight different things and colors etc and tint things a certain way but no way of knowing

+1 for random Fauxleys off of aliexpress. They spend 98% of the time on my helmet anyway.
