Appalachian
3:30 Z2. I think I found my mental limit for time on the trainer.
@heypoolboy78 I did its big brother - Mount Grant ![]()
3 x 16mins at threshold.
The first workout using AT where I’ve responded with “very hard” in the post workout survey, there was some definite clock counting for the latter half of the third interval
I’ve had a hard physical week at work so it was quite tough. Surprised AT didn’t offer adaptations but hey ho, Annapurna in two weeks’ time might be a bit of a stretch.
White -1 Sweetspot 7.3
Been doing a lot of freeriding at a good tempo and noticed the other day my PLs around sweetspot suddenly drop from around 4.x to 2.x Guess it’s not taking any notice of my freerides so I dropped in a ‘Not Recommended’ Train Now on stage 2 of tour of Zwift. Wanted something to keep a good pace without the breaks, White -1 was found. Course was towards and up Alpe du Zwift, so a case of extending that interval out to the finish line.
Legs felt a bit heavy towards end but PLs climbed back up again
Mission accomplished.
Threshold and vo2 max next targets!
Three fools -1 that didn’t feel bad
Tomorrow is my last day prior to my rest week. Might need to do disaster
The Chimneys +5. After rearranging my plan to accommodate ZRL I ended up moving a workout from yesterday to today. I was expecting this to be harder or have another interval. One week out from a recovery week. Kept my cadence at just below 95 for the ramps and 100-105 for the starts.
Ended up pushing the warmup out by 10 min and the tail end up to high end endurance after letting my hr/breathing settle from the final interval so I could finish the second Tour de Zwift stage. Intervals aren’t great for getting up mountain but I just told myself this is sag climbing.
Run with hard efforts this morning…
Thompson this afternoon…
3.5 hour endurance ride tomorrow - weather permitting, hoping to head outdoors!
I had time to kill so I fired up TN again this time m, although I felt I could go harder I went with it’s recommendation of Lazy Mountain. I was quite impressed that after doing a higher level endurance ride just a few hours ago it was now recommending a low intensity recovery ride.
Lol
Saturday Z2 where I loaded RGT to see how it worked.
Lasted a whole 15 min before I just had to sprint… ![]()
Ended up doing two 30s and a 60s seated attempts in the power zones or whatever they are.
Can see myself doing more of these for sure, but either need a new phone + holder/monitor or pc/laptop solution.
No chance to adjust for drafting with the slideshow and phone on the window sill with no chance to read numbers properly.
Felt great to stretch the power output again.
Disaster -1 got destroyed today
Rest week here I come
Had the best night of sleep I’ve had in a while and woke up feeling pretty energized, so I decided to really push it today
I had to start taking breaks during the last few rest intervals, but I managed to finish it.
Glad your workout went better than the end of that game.
What a mess. Never seen that happen
Longfellow. Apparently my aeroplex is old enough that the battery only lasts 2:45. Had to swap it out and then when the replacement died swap back to it.
Taper Time!
It was funny dialling up today’s workout to see it was only 45min.
I got a good bit of MTB riding and course recon in over the weekend which was great.
Now I just need to work out what the right amount of additional volume is the right amount, or whether I should just follow the taper down as laid out.
Hell yes! Nicely done. I did Marcus Baker today and certainly didn’t have another 20 mins in my legs at the end.
Holy cow. That’s a lot of sweetspot ![]()
Excellent work ![]()
