What workouts are effective for building climbing speed

I have been working on my endurance with Build and wanted to increase my speed up climbs. I seem to have the endurance but not the initial punch.
What workouts would give me the best bang for buck. So to speak.

I don’t understand this initial punch vs endurance. What exactly are you lacking? How long a climb are you talking?

Generally speaking, Sweet Spot Base and the Sustained Power Build are what I would recommend.

I suppose I mean endurance as I can keep a constant speed up a climb but I want the speed to be faster.

What length of climb in time? Will you be gear limited and have to ride a low cadence?

Lose weight or make more power if you want to go faster up hills.

I’m after same goals, get better at climbing, but I don’t want to give up weight.
My observations on lower climbing speed are that these are either power and, therefore, low cadence or fitness/HR related.

If you feel that you grind up the hills as a result of lack of power, easier “uncool” gear may help immediately.

If it is fitness/HR limit, then this needs to be developed by, say, climbing more or spending more time in these higher HR zones. I tend to get to a certain HR and hover around it, but I know I have extra 17 beats on top of that, but I don’t go there for some reason…

This is an extremely broad question (with minimal details), and therefore, difficult to give any real advice. It’s like saying “I want to go faster” and leaving it at that. To steal the comment from the podcast, “You need to push the pedals harder, for longer”.

Without giving us any relevant info on particular limiters from the rider, gearing in use, and such… we are left to guess and give overly generic advice. To that end, the above about following a Sweet Spot Base, Sustained Power (which is relevant to most climbing unless it is super punchy and short), and Century Specialty phase are great options.
