@GoLongThenGoHome Hopefully it sat in the box on the counter overnight, and you ate it room temperature the following morning. Leaning over the sink. Like a rat.

Haha! So my mom’s family is from Missouri but moved to the Livermore, CA back in the 50s. Where are y’all from? Growing up I’d always beg for it. She’d say sure, but your gonna stand there and stir it. I’ve whittled the recipe down to just enough for me and whichever of my 3 kids feels like getting a sugar fix. I usually go with 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup flour, 2-3 TBPS coco powder, and 4 cups of milk. Stir till thick and then top off with butter and vanilla extract while the biscuits finish cooking. How do you make yours? I’ve lived in North TX for almost 30 years now. No better way to refuel after a long hot day on TX roads!
Today was a hectic and I didn’t have a proper meal until dinner so for breakfast I may have had one or two of these leftover from the previous evening:
Not particularly proud of it and don’t do this too often but I figure I would burn them off in TR.

Edit: Marmite seems the closest but apparently has a milder taste. Challenge accepted.

Marmite is what Vegemite was based on I believe. Not sure about the milder taste!

We are from North Georgia. My mom used to make this all the time for us. And with 2 brothers and a sister, there was never enough to satisfy all of us. I haven’t had chocolate gravy and biscuits in years, but I think I need a trip back to mom’s house to learn how she made this and pass it down to my son and daughter.
