I’m a new subscriber here.
I usually ride indoors using my Garmin (I’m used to seeing my metrics there) and I will start using also the Zwift integration. My question relates about potential activity duplicates as…
Zwift will send my workouts to TR.
Garmin will send my workouts to TR.
Strava will receive workouts both from Garmin and Zwift. (TR is not connected to Strava).
Is TR “smart” in the sense that it will only consider one of those two?
Nate mentioned in the past that Garmin data are better than Strava data so when TR gets data from Strava and Garmin, it only keeps the one from Garmin.
I’m guessing they thought about it for Zwift as well. I would say try it and report back on it.
How closely did you start them to each other? I usually dual-record on my watch and Zwift, but often start the watch while I sit in the starting pen of an event for example.
I’d presume any discrepancy in duration that’s too wide might confuse any de-duplication algorithm. Both Strava and Garmin retain both activities when I do this, so neither of those are intelligent enough to realise they overlap, it seems.
