I just logged in to Zwift Power after many months and was presented with a page stating that Zwift Power makes all of our (my) information public to make it harder for people to cheat, but I don’t think that ‘all’ of my personal data needs to be totally revealed for that, does it? And who looks at all the users on Zwift Power to catch people weight doping, or other tricks? Has Zwift Power always done that?
How does that sound to others? Is it worth the apps purpose to be fully exposed.
Have they always done that or is this a new policy?
Funny that after posting an article about the Defcon hacker that cheated Zwift, I was accused of it, tongue in cheek I hoped. Determining who cheats and who doesn’t would call for a lot more than just exposing all of our (their) data. Wouldn’t it require live cameras and even more? So why do Zwift racing it if it gets that bad/open. Or am I off base?
Funny . Who’s doping? Who’s hacked their power meter? Who cares?
It’s not real. It’s for entertainment. Just like video games. I think they call it “e-sports” as in “e”for entertainment .
You can earn a UCI rainbow jersey for e-racing. Doesn’t get much more real than that.
Personally, I don’t care if someone is weight doping or trainer-hacking on Zwift. I don’t use it for racing as an end, just for training. But plenty of people do and it is a real issue for them.
despite it beeing under the same umbrella, i would not say that the racing you see in this photo is the same as the one the person is asking about.
for those UCI races, people have to jump a lot of hoops with weighting in pictures, record their rides on different devices, etc.
its pretty much common knowledge that zwift racing per se is a lost cause up to a certain level because it is full of cheaters.
The terms and conditions don’t look reasonable to me, I only cast my eye over quickly, but they ask you to agree that the security of your data isn’t their problem if they get hacked, later they demand that you to indemnify Zwift and partners, nah.
