I love TR just the way it is, but I also hope Nate and other potential investors can drive off into the sunset in Ferraris and never worry about money again.
Agreed, Iād be happy for them. Iād also be bummed, because Iād doubt Nateās ābig hairy audacious goalsā would come to fruition.
I like Nateās vision of machine learning using inputs from various wearables, to offer up the ideal workout. Iād be more excited about a merger with Whoop or Oura ring than Zwift. When I think of TRās ethos of constant improvement, Zwift is not what comes to mind.
So to get big numbers we just feed Chad some comments? Notedā¦will do!
Just donāt expect much if you get into on Nutrition or Racing. Hereās the leading categories Iām in
did someone say something to the contrary? It seems pretty obvious if you put in the work and do the necessary recoveries while eating and sleeping properly, you will get faster regardless of the location (virtual or otherwise).
I could see someone trying to claim that you might (get faster) faster using one system than another. After taking 16 years off the bike, I started back up 18 months ago. I did zero structured training. I just rode as far and as hard as I felt like. Every day was up to what I was in the mood for. I did intensity but not as much as any system would prescribe. I got faster. This is true whether youāre looking at my power curve or my segment PRs or my TT loops (always start and finish in the same place).
Empirically I got faster. However, itās almost certainly true that I would have gotten faster more quickly had I tested accurately and then stuck to a TR training plan over the same period of time. Would 18 months on zwift have been as productive as 18 months on TR? Donāt know.
Did you read the thread?
I donāt see them partnering with something like these that have so many consumers giving such negative feedback on the product. Can you imagine āoh, I tried that TrainerRoad wearable and it suckedā? That would be horrible.
Lots of consolidation in this space, it all makes sense.
Honestly Iām more interested to understand who might buy out āintervals.icuā in the future, his data analysis tools are exceptional.
Nate certainly is passionate about TR and that comes across in the podcast. And he clearly has excellent goals for TR IMO. It would stink if he was no longer leading TR but things change and Iād be happy for the TR if it there was a merger and they made out well.
Worked on me as well!
One aspect of Cisco to not overlook in this regard is they did a lot of āspin insā, as I think they were called. They would give some seed funding to Cisco engineers/execs that would quit and form a startup, get other funding, and develop a specific product Cisco wanted. They would then be purchased. This was even done with licensed Cisco code in some cases - ie these companies would either succeed and be purchased by Cisco, or likely go bankrupt, as their product was tailored to Ciscoās requirements and fit into their product line (or filled a hole.)
Itās a lot easier to acquire a company that has been specifically constructed to be easy for you to acquire.
Hate to disappoint yāall, but this is just me crowdsourcing anecdote to verify if all IG business accounts are seeing a precipitous decline in non-follower organic reach from in-feed posts, hehe.
And just in case anybody wants to know, the algorithm has changed and it has had an effect on non-follower organic reach.
Back to your normally scheduled programming
Thanks for nipping this rumor in the bud.
Absolutely incredible
I love how he just dropped in to address that one particular thing and then popped right back out. Legendary.
Epic.
so he is reading this.,ā¦
hahahahahaha.
@Jonathan tell us, what does it feel like to live rent free in so many peoples heads?
They are all reading this.
