Hoorah, at long last. I shall now re-sign up for my TR subscription. Great news!
Great work TR Team!
Many people have been asking for this for years
Correct. But you can pair your power meter and smart trainer with Zwift.
Yeah, and TR finally convinced them to make the change
Yes! Exactly what I needed to get back into structured training!
Yes, you are correct.
Next feature weโre working will give you increased levels for that added endurance too.
Hope the recovery is going well, and that this helps with it, Noah!
So bummed Iโll be missing the opportunity to do the group ride this Sunday. Iโll be boarding a cruise ship so I guess I canโt be too mad haha.
After doing a handful of TrainerRoad workouts in Zwift the last couple weeks, I have decided that I will probably do most of my workouts the way i was before - trainer connected to the TR app with power meter connected to Zwift, for the following reasons
I really do not like ERG mode in Zwift, its slow to react and doesnโt seem to hold the power as well as the TR app. Anything with shorter then a 30 second interval length seems unworkable in Zwift
Cant extend cool down or warm up, I know for cool down can keep pedaling after workout has completed but often at that point i dont want to shift or think about it, just want to set a power and let erg do its work.
Zwift only lets you increase workout power to 125%.
I cant calibrate my trainer (H2) in zwift. I like to do a calibration every week or two and with Zwift i have to pause the workout, disconnect trainer, connect to Saris app, disconnect Saris, reconnect to Zwift
This is FANTASTIC news. I love both TrainerRoad and Zwift. It was a bit of a pain to do both at the same time. Being able to still ride after the workout and then have it all go to TrainerRoad when the ride is over is absolutely awesome. Great Job to everyone involved.
I donโt really notice the ERG issues with zwift that many have mentioned. Probably do to a couple things:
-
I have done MANY Zwift WOโs before joining TR. I may just be accustomed to it.
-
Maybe it is hardware sensistive. I have Kickr v5. My wife has Zwift Hub v1, and it is even less noticeable on that.
Not having to run 2 apps is such a win for me. I have two trainers side by side and often ride with my spouse. Multiple apps, multiple connections, 2 different comm protocols โฆ it was tough keeping it all reliable. And when something would quit us, it was always so painful.
I will probably still do an occasional 2 app setup, like wanted to do a TR WO while participating in a Zwift event.
Thanks TR and Zwift. I canโt thank you enough.
Gains!
This might be my wifeโs favorite benefit. She really dislikes multiple events for a single ride.
Does anyone happen to know if there is a hack to disable the annoying little dashboard in front of the riders that displays wattage for all to see?
I think it displays w/kg
Weโre doing one today at 5:00pm Pacific if that works! link: ๐ด Ride With TR! | Happy Hour on Tempus Fugit | Feb 10, 5:00pm PST ๐ด
Thatโs it - New TR subscription now in place, refreshed data to syncg rides, new TR plan created and old plan binned. First workout synced to Zwift and ready to ride.
Thanks TR!
Definitely displays watts.
We love to hear it! Welcome back!
