100 Mile Gravel Race in NY

My name is DJ, Trainer Road Sub, and part of a race organization committee located in in upstate New York. We are planning a 100 mile gravel race in the Tug Hill region of New York. We have some big goals and aspirations, but that starts with getting as many participants as possible. I couldn’t think of a better group of dedicated cyclists to reach out to. Provided is a link to the event website which will hopefully answer any questions you have while also directing you to the sign-up on bike reg. I plan to compete and hope to take some pulls with you awesome people. Cheers!

Details:

  • Confirmed special guests: Ben Delaney and Charles Ouimet
  • 100 miles
  • ~6000 feet of climbing
  • Competitive and recreational Men’s and Women’s categories
  • 2 shorter options as well
  • After Party
  • Swag
  • Fast Gravel

Feel free to drop any questions on this thread.

Given how expense some of these events have become, this is a bargain!

It’s a 4 hour drive for me so I’m going to keep this on my radar.

Yeah we have some really awesome sponsors that have helped us put on this event so we don’t have to charge an arm and a leg. Our goal was to have an event that rivals some of the bigger events but for a much more friendly price. I look forward to seeing you there! Bring friends!

Excellent pricing - If it wasn’t clear across the country I’d be there. Best of luck!

I’m in! I have to find an Air BnB though.

You can also look for a Hotel in Watertown, NY. They have your typical Holiday Inn type hotels there. There are certainly Air BnBs on Tug Hill. I actually think a few of them are on the route. Any questions feel free to send me a message!

Too far for me to drive, so I’m out. But a suggestion: it took me several minutes to figure out where this place is. In the end, I only found an address via the Accommodations page. You really need a “Directions” page, clearly on the home menu bar, for people to easily figure out where you are and how to get there.

Thank for the feedback! We’ll take care of that.

Gotta love the tag line…

“Once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right”

Right there’s a good enough reason for me to scratch this onto my calendar.
I ain’t often right
But I’ve never been wrong

Hey there! This looks awesome. I’m curious what is considered the cat 1 field? I’m by no means a cat 1 but can generally hang pretty well.

I signed up, pumped for this! @isaacdevoid my understanding was if you’re there to race (or hang with the fast group as long as you can) you should enter “cat 1.”

on my radar if I go to NYS RR Champs in Albany that same weekend!

Cat 1 is timed Cat 2 is not. Insurance doesn’t let us call it a race, so that’s our work around!
