I don’t like padding on gloves. It hurts my wrists and causes numbness. Can anyone recommend a good unpadded short finger summer glove? Bonus points if it includes a thumb wipe. I had been using the PI PRO Aero for a few years now, but they seem to no longer make them.
I’m not a fan of padding either, Rapha pro gloves have minimal padding (but are pricey) but I also I get on well with specialized “grail” gloves, they have some small padding, but in the center of the palm.
My favorite are the Troy Lee Ace gloves - no padding and extremely breathable. The PI Divide gloves are pretty similar to the old Pro Aero ones if you’re loyal to them.
I have some long finger Hand Up gloves, but they have some short finger options as well. I really like how they fit. They’re kind of unique too.
Pearl Izumi Aero Team gloves have no padding and are a favor for me.
Also bought some Specialized aero gloves a few years ago that weren’t padded, but they were on close out so I don’t think they make them anymore.
Also not a fan of padding. HandUp short finger are great for me too! Not very expensive either. Comfortable and have a good thumb wipe. Check em out.
Thanks. Unfortunately neither of those appear to have short finger models.
I can’t find those PI gloves. Looks like they may have stopped making your favorites too.
I have 2 pairs of these Specialized gloves, no paddding and full vent on the back

maybe take a look at the velotoze gloves. There is no padding but it does have a patch of double leather on the heel of the hand.
Oops! First forum post and I didn’t even read the question correctly
I use these on the TT bike Aero Gloves | Rule 28
No thumb wipe though.
Giro Zero gloves. I love them!
Haha! Thanks for the reply and welcome to the forums!
I have a pair of the grail gloves and would not recommend it… After 5-10 washes the gel padding on one side detached internally while still contained in its sewn pouch. It also has a tendency to curl, so now not only is the padding in a different spot now between the left and right side but oftentimes it curls and lumps up, pressing into the median nerve. A quick google turns up accounts of this happening to others too, which suggests it’s a design issue and not a one-off…
Thanks for that feedback!
I have 3 pairs of varying age (up to several years) none are treated kindly and all are fine (stitching has started to pop on one but I size down to get a closer fit and stop things going baggy). They’re all the older design so maybe that’s a factor?
I don’t like gloves in general, but on super hot days I sweat so much that I’ve been having to wear them. I’ve been using a short finger pair from La Passione and like them so far. Pretty minimal.

Thanks. Those are super padded though.
Huge fan of the Giro Zero line. Used the Zero IIs for years then the CS line that I think I like even better.
