I am starting the build phase of my plan. I used plan builder back a couple months ago but now when I go to my Career page and select Plan Overview on my active plan it shows different workouts than my calendar shows.
Did they change it? Sustained power build on calendar goes like this:
Ramp Test
Carpathian Peak
Mount Goode
But when I go to Training Plans and select Build and then Sustained Power Build it shows:
I was just about to ask that @Nate_Pearson, XCO Specialty changed for sure! Not sure if this intentional or not. How do switch to the new plans using Plan Builder?
This doesnât appear to be minor IMHO. All the workouts are different than what they were previously. If they change why dont they change in your scheduled plan?
Once you add workouts to you calendar, you are effectively copying those workouts from the plan to your calendar. Those are an instance of the workout that wonât change unless you change it.
If youâre using Plan Builder, making a change to a block (increasing or decreasing the volume, moving the scheduled days around, etc.) will make the block the entire plan (wheee) use whatever the new plan schedule is.
I think they are going to be dropping some new stuff soon especially the work out levels and they were working on the new training plans. Canât wait to see what they bring out!
I gotta say some of these new workouts look good and others look like someone just sneezed intervals. Iâm happy things are improving but some of this stuff seems like âlook we have new stuffâ filler material, coyote caught my eye as one
Completely different. Iâm just approaching the rest week in Sustained Power Build. The remaining half of the plan in its new guise looks slightly less daunting but you never knowâŚ
Hereâs what it looks like with progression levels, itâs likely theyâre going with their new format to provide reasonable increases in progression week over week
editing to add: Iâve been doing SSB HV using adaptive training and SSB1 HV ended up being âeasierâ than SSB1 HV that already exists due to the progression levels, but SSB2 HV with adaptive training (for me) is actually more challenging as the workouts are going to be higher progression level compared to SSB2. But Iâm intrigued by the approach as a sustainable way to make workouts harder over time.
Something tells me these changes are connected to all the AI/ML, Progression Levels and other info they have directly mentioned and hinted at. It may even be related to the stuff Jonathan teased in this weeks podcast 307.
