Electrolytes and Hypertension

Great pod cast and virtual coach 5* and many recommends passed out to team members over the past two years. My fitness has increased exponentially with hopefully a solid base FTP for the season and a resting HR of 38. I have high blood pressure and have had multiple tests with the final explanation of “probably hereditary”.
The link between salt intake and the negative effect on blood pressure is well documented. I acknowledge you are not in a position to hand out medical advice but it seems that drinking what is effectively salt water contradicts the medical advice to avoid salt. I’m hoping I’m missing something because I find electrolytes help prevent cramp (unproven but in my experience).
The secondary question is is there an alternative?
