I think I just bonked 15 miles into a ride... thoughts?

Didn’t think it would be possible for me to bonk that fast, anyone else experienced this before? In the past I really haven’t needed fuel unless I’m going 40+ miles (though I do better with it).
Factors:
On day 1 of quitting nicotine
No breakfast and a very light, low carb lunch
My week:
55 Monday
25 Tuesday, drank way too much tuesday night
0 Wednesday - very hungover
3 mile run in the morning then bonk this afternoon.

Because you are burning the candle at both ends? You’ve got a lot going on there with quitting smoking, drinking, and low carbing. You need glycogen to fuel rides. Even those keto diet ultra runners drink sugar during long runs and they still can stay in ketosis. (Not that I recommend any of that.)

It appears that you did just about everything possible to fail your “bonked” ride. Try fueling and taking care of yourself and you’ll be amazed on what you can accomplish. BTW, there’s no prize/pride in not fueling work.

It ain’t rocket surgery.

Low fuel
Low rest
Low results

Been there. Done that. Got the t-shirt. Wore it out.
