What does the rest of the email say? Just curious. Their website has those apps on display, but mainly to show their products (sensors and trainers) work with these apps, so I don’t know if I’d read too much into this, although I’d love to read into this! lol
I think it was an April fool
Well it was posted April 2, so no more fooling allowed!
Absolutely
For basic TR intervals sessions like Ainslie you can use Garmin Connect to create a workout and send to the device. have a read up and play with it and it can allow you to take plenty of TR rides out on the road. Most are clearly better when you have stretches of roads long enough and flat enough to execute such intervals.
Well Sea Otter needs to hurry up so I can buy a new bike computer. With my luck I’ll buy one today only to have a newer/better and more integrated bike computer come out a couple weeks later . That literally happened to me a month after I bought the GoPro Hero 6.
The Android apps are similar:
- Element app showing last update Dec 13, 2018
- Wahoo Fitness showing last update July 11, 2018
I wonder if they jumped the gun on the email vs app update releases?
I was sick of waiting so I paid my nephew to get all the TR workout recreated on Trainingpeaks that syncronize to my Garmin 1030 and it works perfectly! I still pay for my TR obviously and uses it but just can’t do the long rides on the trainer so i had to get them recreated,
UPDATE: I erased my workout libraries on my TP Account since it breaks their TOS, so sorry bout that,
This violates their ToS.
Look at your app, and I suspect you will find you still have an old version. I don’t think they have actually released the updated apps yet.
oh i didn’t realize this as I never read those usually, what should I do ? remove them from my traininingpeaks account?
Yes my version is 3 months old and is the latest one on the store. That would explain it then. Does the email say when the new version is being released?
At least blank out the intervals and text descriptions. I don’t believe they have any issues with reproducing the Title/TSS/Duration information for planning purposes. What you’ve effectively done is made it so you don’t need a TR subscription anymore.
No dates listed. The first pic I posted above, implies the updates are already in place.
- “Check out all of the features below and be sure to update to the latest version in the App Store and Google Play Store.”
Strange. Thanks though
yes make sense, I don’t really read those anyway, I still need an app to use on my trainer and the training plans, and chad’s comment etc… I was just thinking in a way of how could I do my TR workouts outside instead,
