People have been requesting it for years
I liked that feature, hopefully itās still there for non TR workouts
I just loaded up a workout, same for none TR workouts (rounds to nearest) Iām impartial, makes no difference to me, just the big blocker for a lottle of people was the 5w thing, so was worth pointing out
But the combo has always been (relatively) expensiveā¦I donāt see why this integration should change it and users have been paying for both platforms for years.
ETA - I do agree with you that this is not likely to cause a substantial bump in subscribers to either platformā¦but I do think it will cause some to maintain both platforms now.
And itās really not that expensive considering TR is more of a coaching platform, which is way cheaper than a human coach. ~$200 a year vs $200 a month
The issue I had with the original Title was that it said āat a costā, that implied (to me) that there was going to be an additional fee having the link on top of TR + Zwift subscription
I feel that you are unfair on putting this only in the TR title, and not pointing out that it is an additional cost for any of the training software, Xert is $15 , even Join @ $13, are additional costs, and your post / video makes it feel that only TR are āat what costingā it ⦠to me
Also ⦠from your video, it doesnāt matter what course you use for doing a workout in Zwift, you get the same XP
Thanks for the clarificationā¦I was confused when I first saw that, too.
Gonna resort back to my tried and true method of doing workouts up AdZ and then coasting down after the workout for some free XP.
I just charge both against my corporate fitness reimbursement. Seems cheap to me.
Joking aside, Iāve been paying for TR and Zwift for years anyways, so the cost here isnāt an issue. Itās just sweet to finally have integration.
In the past, Iāve been able to get around the integration by running both pieces of software on my computer with one paired to my trainer and the other to my power meter, but this makes it so only one piece of software is required. Meaning, now I can just run Zwift off my iPad, which is pretty sweet.
Ah, got it. So if you do a TR workout on the trainer, TR is picking up other signals from how youāre completing the work, regardless or your scoring of the effort?
Iām gonna let the TR team handle that oneā¦I donāt know the intricacies and details well enough to speak to them.
In short, yes ā at this time, TR can pick up on more data when the workout is being done in the TR app (or now on Zwift!) when it comes to updating your Progression Levels. Itās a bit more detailed than the āpass/failā approach of Outside Workouts. Your Post-Workout Surveys are, of course, still important! They give TR and Adaptive Training more information from you, the athlete, that the raw data may not necessarily show.
All that said, this is something we are continuing to work on improving ā for both indoor workouts done on TR/Zwift, and for Outside Workouts.
Is anyone else having issues with the TR app post ride? I finish my TR workout on Zwift, check that it went to Strava (because Zwift seems to freeze on the save screen). When I open the TR app next, it shows the completed workout, but also a scheduled duplicate workout. The app then suggests adaptations that are kinda wonky, including often giving me a yellow or red light. Iāve been declining the adaptations since they seem to be based on the app thinking Iām going to do the workout twice. Should I just be patient and wait for the hamsters to do their thing for a while before opening TR?
Somewhat related, I can almost never do an outside gravel or MTB ride without it the app giving me a yellow or red light and recommending switching my next intensity day to a rest or endurance day. No matter how easy I try to go.
