How are outside TR workouts analyzed differently than if they’re done inside? I

They basically aren’t….they are treated as pass / fail and TR takes your word for it that it was completed as instructed. The actual data is not analyzed, but you get the PL “credit” for completing the workout.

Thing about intervals.icu/zwift is it’s not reliable but it’s acceptable cos intervals.icu is cheap/free-ware run by volunteers. Trainerroad is a professional platform so we’d expect it to work. If it didn’t we’d complain. They won’t release it until it’s reliable.

*intervals is developed by one person and has been extremely reliable in my experience. Curious to hear what is unreliable about it?

Additionally its development is very open and you can see what everything is based on, no real black box outputs.

Actually, Zwift could just make its app available as borderless window and I’d place TR min workout player over, that’s it. Zwift in windowed mode looks sort of weird. Next to that, its workout player is terrible compared to TR, is that what we are looking for?

I have reliability issue related to running 2 apps at the same time connected to my gear. It would be nice to only have 1 app (Zwift) connected and running.

We're going to change how we sync workouts to other platforms

As some of you might have seen, we’re working on syncing TrainerRoad workouts to Zwift. Once we have that ready, you’ll be able to do TR workouts on: TrainerRoad Zwift Garmins Wahoos Hammerheads How it works today is that you can create connections to those platforms and then choose what rides you want to do “outside.” Those get pushed to your connected device. I don’t use Zwift these days, but a friend of mine does and she thought she saw someone in a Trainer Road branded kit riding in Zwift late last week.

The TR staff have been trialling it in Zwift since late last year.

TR-Z move (third party app) does exactly that. Makes Zwift borderless and moves the windows of Zwift and TR(minimized mode) perfectly. And the TR text instructions during workout will appear over Zwift. I’ve been using it for a while.
