Now that’s something one might find in a Southeastern Minnesota gas station…

Y’all inspired me today. Had plenty of fuel in my pockets but stopped anyhow.

I am laid up with I don’t know what - not COVID - and all I wanted to do today was ride for 5 hours and have a Hostess Fruit Pie. :weary:

Obviously Garmin implemented tap-and-pay on the Fenix watch to encourage buying more trash than a normal pancreas is designed to handle. But dang, it sure beats riding around with a pile of loose coins.

Haven’t been able to ride my roadie outside in over a month. Had to celebrate.

I want this.

These are a fav of mine whilst on the trainer. Easy to chew, and quite good!

I’ve found a new favorite to replace my usual go-to of Coke and a payday.

Nitro Pepsi! It’s so smooth, 62g sugar/can, and saved my butt yesterday on a ride where my AXS FD wouldn’t shift, and I had to ride 5k feet of elevation over 66 miles in only the big ring. This stuff is smooth enough that I might even consider putting it in my bottles at gas stations.

I swore off soda probably 15 years ago and haven’t had any since but this Nitro Pepsi has peaked my interest…this post doesn’t help, gotta love when I can use “but I need the energy when cycling” as an excuse. :stuck_out_tongue:

I was cracking from the effort and lack of spinning options, grinding at 40ish rpms up climbs in the big ring. This saved my ride.

Thinking Pepsi needs to sponsor a cycling team. “p/b Pepsi Nitro”

Haha, that would be delightful.

I’ve often thought that if I ever made my own custom kits, I would put “p/b potatoes” because I’ve been known to “drive thru” and grab french fries if the opportunity presents itself.

This ^^^ 430 calories a pop - soft gooey and easy to slide down the throat, pure sugar refined grain and oil - can’t be beat! Vegan, too!

Petition to replace giant oil company road sponsors with various confectionary brands. Probably still ethically sketchy, but considerably more delicious.

I expect a message from whoever makes Toxic Waste in my inbox shortly. Oh, wait…

It amazes me that Coke has not introduced “Coke Sport” or something similar……essentially they should just bottle flat Coke and charge a premium for it.

Sign a sponsorship deal with IM and bank the money.

Personally, I prefer the carbonation….and maybe it is more of a Tri thing, but yeah, a lot of people really love flat coke. And if you could then use in a water bottle on the road, I think it would do really well.

Don’t think I was ever a ‘recreational’ Coke drinker, but I’ve definitely come to prefer it flat, and ideally with a noticeable pinch of salt. Actually sits better in my stomach than most things so I use it for long/hot brick sessions fairly often, particularly as it’s standard at most Tri aid stations.

My roommates have stolen the Nasty Coke to use as a mixer after a few drinks once or twice. That’ll learn ‘em.

Gatorade turns my stomach. Coke doesn’t. :man_shrugging:
