Just broke that very same glass I had at home last week. It’s a delicious beer. I like Leffe too amongst the Belgians.

I recently joined the beer club of a local brewpub chain. A pretty good bargain.
This month’s release had a Mole Stout, I didn’t taste the mole. Did enjoy it watching my hockey team win last night.
Tonight watching the USA currently in a tight draw against Mexico with a good IPA.
Revolution Brewing makes outstanding beers….currently working my way through a mixed 12 pack of IPA’s. Tonight’s sampling….
Phoenix is not my favorite African beer…I’m partial to Nile Special.
Flanders Fields
I’ll be sure to try it if I find myself in Uganda some day. When in Rome…
Phoenix is pretty much all that’s available to me if I want to drink local beer The rest is imported into Mauritius
I’ve been trying to do Athletic Brewing non-alcoholic Hazy IPA’s on the weekdays (mon-thurs) then i spoil myself with IPA’s on the weekends with either bear republic or what ever they are serving up at the CX race.
I thought I would do the sober weekday thing only over the race season but really enjoy the taste of the AB’s and feeling half-way with it the next day and not in a total haze. Plus those things are 70-80 calories and helps me keep the weight off.
Finally found some Athletic Brewing beer at a local grocery store, but addicted to this right now:
Less than 0.5% alcohol by volume. Usually drink half a bottle a day, which I just discovered is a serving.
Not beer but like a good IPA it packs a flavor punch!
We have officially entered the best season for beer…Winter / Xmas beers.
I have just started dipping my toe into these beers this year, but so far I have had:
True. I am waiting for the beers that were matured in whiskey caskets. My favourite kinds - thick, heavy and rich.
Clearly I picked the wrong time to cut back on alcohol!!!
My wife and I enjoyed some Allagash Cruieux last night.
This was my beer last night….not usually my type of beer, but I love Hop Butcher and a lot of people have been raving about it.
It was excellent…the mint flavor was very subtle and complimented the chocolate perfectly. But it was a bit boozy for me….10.5% ABV.
Inspired to hunt down some Anchor Steam Christmas Ale - tnx!!
I picked up a bottle of that yesterday in a mix and match six pack from the local Beer store…got several other Xmas beers.
Also working my way through a beer advent calendar, Beers of Cheer.
I have a lot of drinking to do!!!
Brewers Cabinet Tahoe Ale - local beer in Reno. My youngest just graduated from UNR. All the kids are off the payroll
Congrats!!
Little micro-keg I brought to our cycling group Xmas party……first pour did not come out too well.
Having moved back to the Midwest from PA I REALLY miss Weyerbacher (and Merry Monks)!!!
We even made the schlep from Philly to the brewery in Easton once, totally worth it to try all of their offerings (including interesting one-offs)!
Merry Monks was the first beer I had that didn’t disagree with me, everything before that (which, admittedly wasn’t that great) would just mess with my gut
If you get a chance to try more of their stuff absolutely do, now that it’s colder out I’ve been jonesing for some Blithering Idiot (barleywine): Blithering Idiot | Weyerbacher Brewing Co. | BeerAdvocate
or if you want to really have a good time try Insanity (extra-aged Blithering Idiot): Insanity (2021) - Weyerbacher Brewing Company - Untappd
Cheers!
