Oh yes it’s definitely intentional, but it breaks some TR workouts that have small changes in target, even if just aesthetically.
Best Bike Split now also pushes race plans as workouts directly to Zwift. That’s pretty cool, I’m kinda hype to do this now
(It’s a shame Zwift workouts can’t set grade changes in the Kickr Climb, though.)
No it doesn’t. ERG is send to the trainer as either 245 or 250, not 247.
Pretty easy to figure out when riding with a workout where you have “show_avg=1” added to the line in the ZWO workout file.
Btw, I’m fine with this. I feel little added value with increasing or decreasing by 1 watt increments.
Almost all training apps are already integrated to zwift. Why TR can’t just allow sending a workout to zwift in the same way it allows sending it to Garmin?
Good question. The other apps seem to have no problem. Why is TR special? Let’s get er’ done!
My understanding from a couple of months ago was that there was an issue or concern re: AI updated to your plan and how they got pushed to Zwift.
Dunno if that is still a concern or what the current status is….
We just need a button “send to zwift” on the workout dialogue. No need to send the plan to zwift, just the workout prescribed by TR in the day
They’re working on it:
Strange since to use this platform we pay the double of Xert.
I suppose a downside of this integration for me would be the inability to run a TrainerRoad (TR) workout while participating in a Zwift event that isn’t compatible with Zwift workouts. Almost everything I do in Zwift is actually part of an ERG mode TR workout; I just happen to be progressing something in Zwift at the same time. With this integration, that might not be possible for certain events, right?
I’d assume you could do what you’re doing today AND/OR use the integration, so I don’t think you’ll be impacted.
No, just do what you do today….run TR through one connection (ANT+) and Zwift through another (BT) but don’t connect the trainer for resistance, just a power source.
Yeah, makes sense. I was just hoping things were going to get simplified… but there will still be cases where I need to keep doing what I do, thanks.
Maybe we get early access this week?
I haven’t tried doing a workout in s group event but doing workouts natively in zwift will earn you route badges, drops, meter climbed and XP (even more than free riding would) and you get workout arches (which I really like because it almost seems like you can make the interval end sooner)
Really? I read the opposite in that one of the quirks of Zwift is that you actually earn XP and drops slower doing workouts than freeriding?
Admit I haven’t experimented myself.
Although I disagree with the place, imho the Alpe du Zwift is better than the climb portal because you can win much bigger bonuses with the wheel of fortune at the top of the AdZ
But XP doesn’t really matter after level 40 because after level 40 (which I haven’t reached yet) there is no better equipment available unless you want to flex with the most expensive but slowest bike in game which becomes available at level 44 (zwift safety bike and wheels 2.4 million drops iirc but I will definitely buy it and start riding around on it)
Confetti socks exist.
Unless you’re a complete sociopath, riding around dishing out 2XP to all and sundry is rather nice.
Much more satisfying than unlocking a 1 second over 30 mimutes time advantage.
That goal is way too far away for me (another year of only indoor zwifting or 3 indoor seasons) although to gain experience you could always run zwift on your mobile whilst riding outside to gain more XP
Agree - I have reached level 40 doing the odd race but mostly just running side by side when doing workouts using the TrainerRoad player.
But I haven’t got enough drops to buy the fastest bikes because I kept spending on stuff I don’t need - just like real life
